The A321 Service Procedures video was designed to help Virgin America flight attendants seamlessly transition to Alaska Airlines’ updated service protocols following their acquisition. I collaborated with stakeholders across both airlines, using custom SME questionnaires to gather the critical information about changes in the in-flight service manual. From there, I storyboarded the entire training video, focusing on how the updated service procedures would impact flight attendants during in-flight service.
Using Storyline 360, After Effects, and the Adobe Creative Suite, I developed the motion graphics video, ensuring that the content was clear, visually engaging, and instructional. The video walked flight attendants through specific service procedures, such as guest interactions and cart service, using high-quality animations. These tools helped bring the storyboard to life, ensuring smooth, easy-to-understand visuals paired with voice-over narration to emphasize key training points.
The video was crafted to align with both Virgin America’s branding and Alaska Airlines’ service standards, ensuring a smooth transition in operations. The visual design used practical, real-world scenarios and straightforward animations to illustrate step-by-step service procedures, making the training digestible and engaging. This approach helped flight attendants absorb the information more efficiently and apply it directly during flights.
The A321 Service Procedures video played a key role in preparing Virgin America flight attendants for their transition to Alaska Airlines' service protocols. The training was well-received, and feedback highlighted the video’s ability to clearly communicate complex service updates. The result was improved service consistency across both brands, allowing flight attendants to confidently apply the updated procedures, ensuring a seamless and successful merger of in-flight services.
